iPhone X, The Worst Flagship of 2017?

There have been quite a few releases of smartphones moving into 2018, however Apple's new iPhone X in celebration of its 10th year anniversary took the cake with its famous notch, removal of its signature home button and finger print sensor in favour of FaceID, and last but not least its price tag.

There is no shortage of reviews on the iPhone X and not to our surprise quite a significant amount of negative reviews as well, however you start seeing the streets filled with people rocking the iPhone X.

This is really where "curiosity killed the cat", as it's hard to believe more and more people are firstly fine with the price tag of USD$999 for the 64GB model and USD$1,149 for the 256GB. Feel free to check out your local Apple Store prices for the iPhone X ...💣 Pfffft WTF is correct! but there are still quite a number of people getting it.

So, is it really worth it? I mean more and more people are getting it and come on, can everyone really be an idiot? 😂 actually that can be another argument. So when I say "curiosity killed the cat", it really tickles your imagination and desire to try it out yourself, and just playing with the display unit in stores just isn't doing any justice... and cave to the desire.

So I would like to conclude it here on a short article that IT'S NOT WORTH IT!

FaceID
More often then not, I find myself having to unlock the phone with my pin. FaceID is new, we get that, and it just doesn't really work well. So imagine unlocking your phone about 80 times a day, and lets say half the time FaceID fails, you're stuck with 40 times of disappointments a day after coughing up so much $$$$$ for the phone. Now multiply that by a week, that's 280 time a week that you sigh...and so on.

Overheating.
Apple has placed in its most powerful processor in what essentially is a thermos. I'm not sure on the details but try playing a game like "War Robots" on your iPhone X, and you can add a few more sighs to your new phone investment.

Apple Pay
Still relatively a not so accepted form of payment, but with the failing FaceID and you need to "Double" push the power button to complete a payment? You still keeping count of the sighs?

App Store
Same as the Apple Pay debacle.

Battery Life
A certain popular tech site has ranked the iPhone X's battery life the worst amongst its flagships of iPhone 8 and 8 Plus. Ties back to the overheating. Still counting sighs? I mean it has a bigger capacity compared to the 8 Plus, right?

In my opinion, Apple used to follow the minimalist ideology with a hint of "I know they want this". but you now find a lot of unnecessary gimmicks in its messaging. Apple has even taken the liberty of including a manual on how to use your iPhone, pre-installed in the App "Tips". Kinda says the iPhone is no longer user friendly.

So if you're fully integrated in the Apple "Ecosystem" and you're looking for an out rather than use a slow iPhone (Apple now admits they slow old iPhones down on purpose), I would recommend the iPhone 8 or 8 Plus. You sigh a lot less.
